Magnet Musicians Earn Accolades in Vancouver

Seniors Yun Teng and JJ Guo performed in the 21st Annual Young Artists Competition this last Sunday, February 8th, at Trinity Lutheran Church in Vancouver.  This annual competition features students performing their selections in a concert setting before a live audience. The top three contestants earn the right to perform with The Vancouver Symphony Orchesta at Skyview Concert Hall under the baton of internationally-renowned Maestro Salvador Brotons in concerts on April 18 & 19. Additionally, students receive a portion of $5,000 in cash in prize money. Earning top honors and a gold medal for his performance, violinist Teng (see picture below, shown ready to perform with his 300 year old violin) won the right to perform with Brotons in April.  Guo, who plays piano, also earned distinction as a silver medalist.  Way to go, Magnetos!  yuntrinitylutheran
